As previous customers to Illann, we were both gutted when it shut down in February 2024. So, in March of that year we made contact to the owners of the time, asking if we could fulfil our childhood dreams of running a clothing brand together. We have always loved the Illann garments and both our gilets seen in the photo were gifted to us for Christmas in 2018. This is the reason we decided to take on Illann, the quality of each and every item stands the test of time as well as being something unique and luxurious. We are both very much learning as we go but we thoroughly enjoy the day-to-day challenges of running our own business together.

We hope to expand Illann as best we can over the coming years and look forward to what the future holds.

The Illann brand began as a result of our passion for high-quality cashmere. We noticed that garments made from substandard cashmere lack durability. We therefore spent time sourcing the finest quality yarns for our garments, ensuring they look better and last longer. The name Illann means striving for success, standing out from the ordinary, and creating balance. These core principles guide us in designing and producing our luxury garments.

Our yarns are sourced from the longest, thinnest fibres found in Inner Mongolia, renowned as the world's finest source of cashmere. The harsh and unforgiving Mongolian climate requires cashmere goats to grow a thick fleece of long outer hairs and an undercoat of fine, soft hairs. Each spring, the down is carefully combed to remove dirt, grease, and unwanted long hairs. A single goat produces only three to four ounces of cashmere, enough for just one-third to half of a jumper. While this makes our cashmere naturally more expensive, it results in garments that 'pill' less and maintain their shape for many years. Many of our pieces feature subtle, unique details that set them apart. Some are entirely new designs, while others reinterpret modern classics.

Our London-based design team brings decades of experience, having worked with some of the world's most prestigious fashion houses in London, Paris, New York, and Milan. With their expertise and creative vision, they have crafted the Illann collections to reflect a perfect balance of countryside charm and urban sophistication. Originally founded in rural Shropshire, we are now proud to be based in Burnham Market, Norfolk.
